Jose Mourinho says we’ll 'go with everything' to Southampton in the fourth round of the FA Cup on Saturday 25 January (3pm).

We set up the all-Premier League tie after beating Jonathan Woodgate’s in-form Middlesbrough 2-1 in a third round replay on Tuesday night. Goals from Giovani Lo Celso and Erik Lamela in a dominant first half laid the foundations for victory in the first FA Cup tie at the new stadium.

Now we face a second trip to St Mary’s in 2020 having faced Saints, also in-form, on New Year’s Day.

Coincidentally, that’s seven away draws on the trot in the FA Cup. Our last home tie was against AFC Wimbledon (played at Wembley) in the third round in January, 2018. Since then, we’ve travelled to Newport, Rochdale, Swansea, Tranmere, Palace, Middlesbrough and now Southampton.

We still have two Premier League matches before that... but when we go there, we have to go with everything

Jose on Southampton in the FA Cup

“It’s a tough draw, yes. I don’t think we’re a team with great draws,” said Jose after Tuesday night’s win.

“Luck is not with us - two away games, two difficult games and Southampton are on fire now in the Premier League, fantastic results. Credit to them.

“We know it's going to be a difficult tie but, if you want to be successful, you have to play against top teams in difficult matches and when that time arrives... we still have two Premier League matches before that (Watford away on Saturday, Norwich at home on 22 January) but when we go there, we have to go with everything.”
